So I think it's about time I set up a donation pool to really help me cycle my work on the site faster. I've been working really hard, and having a premium would make it even easier!

So, I made a facebook page a long time ago, but I've really been failing with keeping it up to date. As of late, I haven't been very interested in keeping my deviantart account, as I don't really like the way the site is run. Thus, I think I may just switch over to mainly using the facebook page. This'll give me a much better way of showing my gallery, as deviantart isn't amazing for sorting galleries.

If anyone is interested in following me there, I think I'll start using that as my primary art site, rather than deviantart. Here's the link: [link]

I'll still be uploading here, but I don't think I'll be moving my art around as much, or talking as much. Sorry if this bugs anyone, I've just started to dislike the site.

Cheers,

Rubiksphoenix.

Having grown up in the 1990s, I was exposed to the early years of video games. From the NES, up until the N64, my memory of games has always come from watching my dad play old LucasArt, and Sierra puzzle games, plus my brother playing nintendo games. As I've grown up I've leant to appreciate the early years of the gaming industry, and always thought of the 2000s as a lesser shadow of its former self.

When I was growing up I wanted to be an art student, but my better understanding of maths and sciences led me down a path more suited to my skills, but has left my urge to paint and draw in the dust. I've tried drawing over the years to no avail, and painting from time to time. Eventually getting to digital art, I was reminded able the simplicity of old game sprites.

From there, I decided to come up a method of how to transfer old sprites onto canvases, both for personal nostalgic reasons and for those who grew up with the characters as well.

Hope you enjoy my work and gallery.

It requires a lot of practice to pint like that. Bullying the chickens was my favourite thing in Zelda games,

Luckily I've had a lot of practice painting over the past three years =]. And I love the chickens, they've become just a beacon of familiarity between the games.

That`s true, the N64 was my favourite thing in my childhood, I never liked it to play outside. I played Banjo Kazooie very often, because I was addicted. I don`t draw often, but when I do I`ll try to draw video game characters or pokemon.

Yeah, I use to draw a lot too, but I really started to feel attached to the old games I played when I started painting them.

Good to hear... Over the summer I should be able to start creating more drawings and getting those out more often.

Most, if not all, of my artwork is video game related. I usually just sketch the characters, usually without a background. Hopefully I'll be able to start improving my art with backgrounds.

If you like the video game kind of art, you should check out some of my stuff! Can't wait to see some more of your stuff!
